Your Role:

The Elevator Operator is responsible for executing on wheat transactions, and safely conducting all operations in a cost effective and efficient manner.   

Your responsibilities:

  • Safely operating loading and unloading equipment; including grain analysis on incoming wheat. Also includes safe and efficient trackmobile operation.
  • Operating equipment used to fill wheat bins in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Any housekeeping duties as assigned such as MSS work orders; including but not limited to confined space bin cleaning operations. The operator is the area owner of the following areas, but not limited to: tunnels, galleys, and rail unload area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as bucket changes, filter sock and cartridge changes, patch and replace spouting, and assist maintenance and contractors with major repairs.

  • Essential Skills:.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Learn and understand all Safety and Food Safety Policies (for example, LTT, Elevated Work, Confined Space, GMP’s, HACCP, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Plant Management, Mill team and Maintenance team.
  • Must have 2 years of plant processing/operations experience, and have demonstrated problem solving / decision making abilities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to resolve personnel conflict and handle multiple priorities at a time.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):  

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e., safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)  
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays  
  • Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with conditions which include:  
  • Heat/Cold temperatures (inclement weather)  
  • Indoor/Outdoor environment  
  • Dusty environment  
  • Noisy environment  
  • Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes  
  • Elevated Places  
  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach or lift at shoulder level, above shoulder level, and below shoulder level  
  • Frequently climb stairs and/or ladders  
  • Occasionally lift up-to 50 pounds  
  • Frequently push/pull/torque a maximum force of 55 ft./lbs.
