Finance Manager – Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications

Your role:

The Finance Manager - Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications is responsible for all aspects of customer accounts receivable management including collections, deductions and cash application.  The role contributes to the company’s success by mitigating and efficiently managing counterparty risk that exists in our portfolio of customers in collaboration with the Credit, Sales, and Customer Service teams.  The Manager is also responsible for continuous improvement of the team’s processes and enhance automation/digital transformation in this space with cross functional support.

Above all, you will be expected to carry out all your activities with reliability, integrity, compliance and in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manages and oversees all processes related to collections, deductions, and cash application throughout the business
  • Drives team to meet targeted service levels and continuously looks for ways to improve workflow and overall efficiency/effectiveness of the accounts receivable management function
  • Understands, enforces and maintains all policies and procedures related to accounts receivable management function
  • Serves as cross functional lead across the organization partnering with all levels of internal management and external business partners/customers
  • Keeps cross functional management up to date on customer issues and process improvement to mitigate collection/liquidity risk
  • Develops reporting to track key metrics, provide visibility to the organization and drive results within the team
  • Manages information requests for yearly Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications audits
  • Maintains strong knowledge of internal data sources and tools to accommodate data requests
  • Oversees cloud based Accounts Receivable platform to update rules and mappings and ensure efficiency and automation around collections, deductions and cash applications
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees, including developing and establishing goals, writing and conducting performance reviews, providing routine feedback and coaching employees for success

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Prior experience leading Accounts Receivable management and/or similar functional area
  • 7 years+ professional experience with knowledge of accounts receivable management and cash applications
  • Ability to work on multiple, complex projects or customer issues, simultaneously with frequent interruptions and see them to completion with limited supervision leveraging and influencing cross functional relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership role in systems implementation and process improvement
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), presentation and negotiation skills
  • Analytical and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • ERP System knowledge and experience in system set up (Microsoft GP, D365, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Power BI and Outlook.

This role may be based remotely or in our Denver, CO Headquarters.  The successful candidate will be expected to commit to a periodic presence in the Denver HQ and/or plant locations, the frequency of which will be open to discussion with the hiring manager.

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $95,807.27 - $127,782.95, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 10% Annual.
