Data Engineer II 

Job Description: 

As a Data Engineer II, you will design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines, data architecture, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams product managers, software architects, and business stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, accurate, and optimized for decision-making. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with modern data platforms, data warehousing, and cloud-based technologies. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources. 

  • Data Warehousing: Design and maintain scalable and efficient data warehouse solutions  

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, software architects, and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient data models and solutions. 

  • Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of data warehouses and data pipelines for both batch and real-time processing, ensuring low-latency and high throughput. 

  • Automation: Implement automation processes and monitoring solutions for data pipelines to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency. 

  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data quality, security, and governance protocols to meet compliance requirements. 

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses. 

  • Data Warehousing Expertise: Proven experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery. 

  • Proficiency with Databricks: Significant hands-on experience using Databricks for data engineering, ETL processes, and analytics. 

  • Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially in managing cloud-based data infrastructure. 

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing, pipeline development, and automation. 

  • SQL Mastery: Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and working with large-scale relational databases. 

  • Automation & Orchestration: Proficiency with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Databricks Workflows, or equivalent. 

  • CI/CD & DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes for managing data infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering scalable and reliable data solutions. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with modern data lakehouse solutions. 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in fast-paced environments.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $102,600.00 - $136,896.10, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 15% Annual.
