Responsibilities:
- This job will be a Utility role with the duties as described below. Role will be responsible as assigned for general labor and relief duties as deemed necessary. The main function of this job will be on 1st shift working with the 1st shift crew as needed or assigned.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Vacation relief and other absentee circumstances.
- Cross training in other departments to help with coverages.
- Sanitation duties as assigned in plant.
- General housekeeping duties, eg: changing light bulbs, pristine work, general sanitation of assigned floors.
- Help prepare totes for storage and shipment.
- Emptying vacuum on shift and dumping carts as they fill up.
- Completing rounds in the mill and reporting to shift miller any issues
- All other duties as assigned.
Functions:
- Will be trained on all jobs to fill in for relief to cover vacations and other absentee circumstances.
- Must be safety conscious and preform all duties in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Will be required to perform job within all Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines.
- Will be responsible for assigned tasks as Utility and relief duties as deemed necessary.
- Must be willing and able to work additional hours which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per day
Climb ladder, step and extension
Able to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force
Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust mask
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
