Job Description 

The Elevator Seed Utility is responsible for executing daily Chickpea transactions and safely conducting all operations in a cost effective and efficient manner.  No experience necessary, you will receive on the job training.

  • High School diploma or GED.  

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Plant Management, Mill team and Maintenance team. 

  • Obtain a Pesticide Applicators license within twelve months. 

  • Obtain a Pesticide/SPI license through WSDA within twelve months. 

  • Must have 1 year of plant processing/operations experience and have demonstrated problem solving / decision making abilities. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily tasks in the process of receiving, shipping and transferring chickpeas from storage bins. 

  • Inspect and maintain condition of product on a routine basis. 

  • Assist in the grading of incoming product. 

  • Maintain accurate and reliable inventory. 

  • Mix chemicals in preparation for seed treatment processes (seasonal). 

  • Operate seed treatment equipment and apply chemicals to chickpeas. 

  • Cross-train in other positions to provide relief duties as needed. 

  • Troubleshoot equipment and take corrective action as needed. 

  • Comply with Master Sanitation Schedules and perform daily housekeeping assignments 

  • Seasonal assignment to other local Pulse locations as needed. 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): 

  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment and wear respiratory protection 

  • Able to work in a noisy environment and wear ear protection 

  • Work in indoor/outdoor environments 

  • Possess the ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work from heights and in confined spaces. 

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs regularly. 

  • Pass a fit test for a phosphine respirator and full face dust respirator 

  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance, and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level. 

 

Other Considerations:

  • 10% Travel 

  • Must be willing and able to work occasional 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and up to 13 consecutive days. 

  • Learn and understand all Safety and Food Safety Policies (for example, LTT, Elevated Work, Confined Space, GMP’s, HACCP, etc.). 

  • Must be willing to get cross-trained in other positions for development within the facility and to provide any relief duties as needed 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $19.90 - $26.57, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - OIP, 5% Annual.
